Angelina Love – Career Insights

Lauren Williams, better known by her ring name Angelina Love currently works as professional wrestler for Total Nonstop Action. She is a Canadian by birth and started her professional career as a model at first, then changed to work as a valet but finally ended up pursuing a career in professional wrestling.

Williams started her professional wrestling career in 2000 working in Canada for various independent promotions. The TNA diva that idolizes Shawn Michaels started to work as a valet for various wrestlers at first and then began her training under Rob Fuego to transform herself into a professional wrestler.

In June 2004, Angelina Love was spotted by the World Wrestling Entertainment scouts when she was working for a promotion around America and they invited her to tryout in WWE. WWE singed her on a development contract late that year and assigned her on Deep South Wrestling, one of WWE‘s developmental territories. At DSW Lauren started managing Johnny Parisi during the summer of 2005 and made her in-ring debut on 8th September. She worked for DSW till the April of 2007 before it was shut down and then moved to Ohio Valley Wrestling where she made her debut at 16th May 2007. Later that year Williams joined the Mexican lucha libre organization AAA and worked under the name of Canadian Angel.

In September 2007 Williams was contacted by Total Nonstop Action to appear for their annual pay-per-view Bound for Glory where she took part in a 10woman Knockout Gauntlet match to crown the TNA’s first ever Woman’s Champion. Working under the ring name of Angelina Love, she soon formed a team with Velvet Sky naming themselves “Velvet-Love Entertainment” which was later changed to “Beautiful People”.

At TNA Angelina Love held the Knockouts Championship for a record six times, and the Knockouts Tag Team Championship once teaming up with Velvet Sky. She also made appearances on the American talk show “The Jenny Jones Show”, MTV’s reality television series “Made” and football based British television program “Soccer AM” wearing a Leeds United replica shirt.
