Jade Jones Says That Swiss Open Semi Final Match Was A Scary One For Her

Jade Jones has not suffered a single defeat in this year but she regards her win in the Swiss Open’s final in the 57 kg category as an exceptional one. Jade Jones became the winner of the gold medal in 2012 London Olympic Games women’s Taekwondo 57 kg category. She is the first British to win a gold medal in Olympic Taekwondo. Jones has won three taekwondo tournaments consecutively this year including this one. Her opponent was 20 years old Nikita Glasnovic from Sweden. Jones won against Glasnovic by a golden point. This is the fifth tournament that the 21 years old Jade Jones has won consecutively. Max Cater has been able to win the gold medal in the 54 Kg senior men’s category. Rachelle Booth has been able to win the silver medal in the 62 Kg category. Overall it can be said that the British team that participated in the Swiss Open Competition spanning two days has become successful.

Jade Jones has said that in the semi final match she became nervous. Her opponent in that match was Joana Cunha from Portugal. Though Jones did manage to defeat Cunha, she admitted that she was considerably behind her opponent point wise at one point and even she could not see properly. She said that she was panicked at that time and felt like she was in one of the Rocky Movies.

As mentioned earlier this is Jade Jones’s fifth consecutive tournament win and she will put in a lot of effort to make sure that she wins the upcoming Dutch Open competition. If she manages to accomplish that then it will be her sixth consecutive tournament win. There is indeed a good chance of 17 years old Max Cater getting included in the British team to participate in the World Championships because of his spectacular win against Cesar Rodriquez in the 54 Kg category.
